How do I book a cabin?
You can book your cabin directly on this website (crownking.com) or you can call us anytime at 928-632-4477. It’s the same process, the same information, and the same cost either way. If you are looking for discounted pricing Sunday thru Thursday you will need to call the InnKeeper.
How much do I have to pay when I book a cabin?
A deposit of 100% is due at the time you make the reservation online. If you prefer to call us we require 50% down too hold your cabin reservation; the balance is due 21 days prior to your arrival date. Client authorizes CKCSB to issue a payment due in full on reservations. For reservations made on-line and by phone – you and your party agree to the: “Terms and Conditions of Sale”. All reservations are subject to availability and blackout periods may apply.
Do you have extra fee’s for extra people?Yes our policy is “If you Stay..you Pay”. The cost is $20 extra per person per night. This is due to the extra cleaning and wear and tear. We must limit the amount of people because of our septic and well. Plus the extras are enjoying our beautiful facility.
Is there a damage deposit or cleaning fee?
Unfortunately yes. A $150 “hold” deposit will be charged the day you check in and released the day you check out provided there is no damages to the rental. Client is responsible for any taxes, gratuities, service charges, property damages and incidentals charged by The Crown King Cabins, Suites and Crown King Bunkhouse (CKCSB) properties. Cleaning fee is included in the price.
What is your cancellation policy?
Any cancellations made less than 21 days prior to your reservation will not be entitled to a refund, however you may reschedule your reservation up to 90 days after your check in date for a $50 rescheduling fee. If your travel plans change and you MUST cancel your reservation, please call us 21 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations received up to 21 days prior to arrival will be entitled to a full refund, less an administration fee of $50. (Except Holiday and “Big Event” weekend rentals, however you may re-schedule up to 90 days on a non-holiday weekend with a $50 administration fee).
What is your pet policy?
The staff welcomes travelers with non-aggressive pets. A maximum of two pets are allowed with a nonrefundable fee of $50 no matter what the length of your planned stay with us. Pets need to be approved in advance and you will need to agree with our pet policies. Unrevealed pets will be charged $250 Fee.
Please follow these policies while you and your furry friends enjoy your time with us.
Pets allowed as long as owners respect other guests, staff and the property, and must be kept on a leash. Keep in mind we do have Friendly Critters of our own that roam around the property cause they live here.
Keep your dog as quiet as possible.
Pets cannot be left alone in your cabin. Please do not allow pets on furniture and beds. Please pick up after your dog around the property during your stay including doggie piles. Allowing your pet on furniture or beds may result in a fee of $250 added to your invoice.
How do we get the keys?
Upon your arrival into Crown King we are located between the Crown King General Store and the Church. t’s a private circle drive way leading to an office. Either call the Innkeeper 928-632-4477 or ring the doorbell on the wall and give her a chance to come out and visit with you. REMEMBER…T-mobile does not work in Crown King. The best carriers are ATT and Verizon. If you are renting The Bunkhouse you will still need to visit with the Innkeeper at the above office to get keys and paperwork. What are check-in and check out times?
Check In: Check in time begins at 2:00pm. Some exceptions can be made provided another renter is not checking out on the same day.Check Out: Check out time is 11:00am. Extra charges may be applied if check out is not adhered to. NO refunds on early departures.
Are linens and towels provided?
Yes we provide linens, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bath mats, dish towels and dish cloths. However if you prefer your own you are welcome.
What supplies are provided at the cabins, suites, and Bunkhouse?
We provide toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, tissue, coffee/filters for 1 night, bar soap, hand soap, dish soap, basic spices, and trash bags. Dishes, plates, silverware, pots, pans, glasses etc. are in most cabins. I suggest bringing disposable plates and utensil so you don’t have to do the dishes.
Where do we dispose of our trash?
Unfortunately Crown King does NOT have trash removal on sight. Our local policy is “Pack it in…Pack it Out”. We ask that you take your trash back down the mountain with you. Or you can pay us a “dump fee” of $3 per bag.
What is you smoking policy?
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING Inside the Cabins or Suites. If caught you will be charges $250 fumigation fee
CIGARETTE BUTTS …must be disposed of in proper containers provided. It you throw them on the beautiful grounds a fee of $20 per butt will be charged and then donated to the Volunteer Crown King Fire Dept .
Are you on a Septic and a Well?
Yes we are on a Septic and private well. So please follow these simple rules. Nothing in the toilets except toilet tissue. Especially No baby/butt wipes, diapers, feminine products!
Limit showers to 5-7 minutes. Arizona is in a Drought Crisis.
Do NOT leave a water source running especially toilets.
Notify MGMT immediately if your toilet is running.
Do you have a Children Policy?
Yes unfortunately we do. PLEASE!! Attend to your children diligently!!
We take pride in our landscaping and antique collection for your enjoyment.
To PREVENT water and SEPTIC issues please educate using limited amounts of toilet paper and NOTHING except toilet paper in the toilets especially NO diaper wipes, diapers, or feminine products
If you give your children candy, gum, or Sunflower seeds please provide them with bag for disposal and do not allow them to litter the grounds.
Do you have any Restaurants or Shops in town and are they within walking distance?
Yes we have 3 restaurants and 2 small stores. The stores have limited hours and hefty prices. I suggest you bring as much as you can with you from the Valley. If you need last minute amenities I too have a small gift shop as well. Should you need any special amenities prior to your arrival please call me at least 7 days in advance so I can leave the mountain to get it for you. You can also order some things on my booking website in advance.
Do you have outdoor fire pits and/or restrictions?
If you choose to have an outdoor fire(provided no restrictions) you must accept responsibility, use common sense, fire safety and make sure guests and property are safe. Fires MUST be extinguished properly before you retire. You cannot make your own fire pit you must use the dedicated fire pits. You can bring your own fire wood, gather it yourself, or you can purchase it here for $10/bundle. Bring your own fire starter and matches. If we are on mandatory “fire restrictions”, then you must abide by the US Forest Service. If you do not then you will be subject to hefty fines.
Do you have barbecue grills on site?
Yes but the grills are charcoal grills and you will need to bring charcoal and lighter fluid or purchase it in the store. During fire restrictions you will not be able to use the grills. You are welcome to bring a propane grill as well?
Do you have designated trail heads and paths?
No we do not. Unfortunately the Prescott National Forest does not have anything marked however be adventurous and explore the acres upon acres of forest on your own. You can also visit with the locals and they will share their favorite places.
Do you have fishing or a lake near by?
Yes Horsethief Basin is a small man-made lake. It is 7.5 miles from the town of Crown King. It is an un-maintained forest service road and quite bumpy. It will take you at least 55 minutes to get there but well worth the drive with amazing views of the Sonoran Desert below. You can fish but you will need to get a license at Walmart down below. Game and Fish does regulate.
Do you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to Crown King?
No you do not, especially if you are prudent and drive carefully. The only time you need 4 wheel drive is during snowy conditions and possibly during “Monsoon Season”. Call the Innkeeper for questionable road conditions. Remember the Crown King road is a “historic” one lane road. Be safe and aware that others may drive to fast so get over safely to the side. Safe Travels!!!
Do you have WiFi and Television?
Yes we do have both for your convenience . BUT Wifi is limited especially in the outlying cabins and amongst the pine trees and cannot be guaranteed . We are on a Satellite System for our remote location in the mountains. WiFi and TV are NON existent during bad weather conditions.
What if we get hurt or injured in Crown King?
Call 911 immediately. The Crown King Volunteer Fire Department will be dispatched to your location. They have an EMT on staff most times and will stabilize you and arrange for transport off the mountain via ambulance or helicopter depending on extent of injury. Please notify the Innkeeper of any injuries.
Do you allow guns or firearms?
Firearms, fireworks or explosives are forbidden. There is NO target shooting with in the town Limits of Crown King. During Fire restrictions shooting is forbidden and heavy fines given. Target shooting is best at regulated sights.
